M.Tech. Knowledge Engineering (Master of Technology Knowledge Engineering) is a PG IT Management Programme, where the engineers apply the technique to build intelligent systems such as expert systems, knowledge based systems, knowledge based decision support systems, expert database systems and more.

Syllabus

In the first semester the subjects covered includes mathematical foundations of computer science, artificial intelligence and intelligent systems, knowledge based system design and data and knowledge mining besides the elective 1. In the second semester the subjects of study includes semantic web, knowledge based neural computing, agent based learning and elective one two and three. In the third semester, the subjects include elective IV-VI, seminar, practical and first phase project. I the fourth semester, project phase two the list of electives include multimedia systems, geographical information systems, professional studies, genetic algorithms and machine learning, pattern recognition techniques, grid computing, human interface system design, decision support systems, reasoning under uncertainty, fuzzy expert systems an fuzzy reasoning, data warehousing, speech and language processing, deductive and inductive reasoning, bio informatics, machine vision, software reuse, spatio-temporal reasoning, digital image processing and embedded technology.

New JNU hostel to allot 75% rooms to north-east students

A new hostel is going to come up on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus in New Delhi, where 75 per cent of the rooms will be allotted to the students from the northeast, Union minister Jitendra Singh said on Monday. The announcement was made on July 24, 2017, by the Union Minister of State for the Development of North East India Jitendra Singh. He laid down the foundation stone for the new hostel that will be called Barak Hostel after the Barak River in the north-east. Although the construction of the hostel has been pending for up to three years, the minister said that the hostel will most likely be operational after 20 months.
