BA Visual Art & Photography: Overview

Are you passionate about photography and want to pursue a career out of it?  There are quite a number of photography colleges in India. The Light and Life Academy, Ooty

Leading among photography colleges in India, LLA is located in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. Established in September 2001, the Institute provides world class training for those youth who look for a career in professional photography. World renowned photographers working in television channels like the National Geographic visit LLA and interact with the students and share their experiences. Besides photography, LLA also offer courses in offset printing and website designing. Renowned firms like Kodak and Epson support LLA.

Mass communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi

The Centre offers a Certificate course in still photography and visual communication under self-finance scheme. The duration of course is  one year with a fee of Rs. 20,750. Only 20 seats are available and aspiring candidates need to pass an entrance examination. The minimum qualification is a graduation and admission process starts from February every year.

Osmania University, Hyderabad

Located in the capital city of Telangana, Hyderabad, the University offers admission to students in fine arts right after school. Photography course is of three year duration and every year an entrance test is held for admissions in BFA (photography) course. Entrance Examination is in the first/second week of June every year.

Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT), Noida

AAFT offers three month programme in still photography and journalism on the basis of 10+2 marks. Located in Noida Film City at NCR region of Delhi, the Academy has an ISO 9001:200 certificate and international reputation in photography. AAFT was established in 1993.

A.J. Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre, Delhi

A private institution affiliated to Jamia Milia Islamia University since 1982, AJ Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre is a premium organisation for pursuing a still photography course. The admissions are made on the score of an entrance examination being held every year to fill 20 seats. The duration of the course is one year and half duration of course will contain only practical’s. Minimum requirement is a graduate candidate with at least 50% marks.
