B.Tech admission 2018 at Naval Academy, Ezhimala

Indian Navy has invited applications from unmarried males, for admission to the  10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) four years degree course commencing in January 2018, at Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala in Kannur district of Kerala.

  
Applicant should have been born between July 2, 1998 and January 1, 2001 (both dates inclusive) and should have passed senior secondary examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent examination from any Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English in either in Class X or Class XII. Applicant should also have appeared for JEE (Main) Examination.
Applicants have to satisfy the prescribed physical standards given at relating height and weight, eye sight and more.  Details are available on the naval recruitment website joinindiannavy.gov.in.
 
 
The short listing of applicants to be called for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview will be based on all Indian ranking in JEE (Main) 2017. IHQ of MoD will fix the cut off for short listing the application for SSB, based on all India rank of JEE (Main) - 2017.
SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be held at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Coimbatore/Visakhapatnam from July to October, 2017. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their e-mail or through SMS as provided by candidate in their application form.

Interview

SSB interview will be conducted in two stages. The first stage consists of intelligence test and picture perception test, which will be followed by a group discussion. The second stage comprises psychological testing, group testing and Interview which will last for four days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo medical examination that will last 3-5 days.
Change of SSB venue for interview is not permissible. Any correspondence pertaining to change of SSB date should be addressed to the call up officer of the concerned SSB. Award of fresh dates for SSB would be subject to availability of batches/slots.

No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests. Return third AC rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for this Commission on submission of rail tickets. While appearing for SSB, applicants should carry photo copy of the first page of bank passbook or cheque leaf where the name, account No. and IFS Code details are mentioned.

Training 

Those recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be selected for training in Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala, Kerala based on All India Merit and considering the number of vacancies. All India Merit will be prepared as per SSB marks. Selected Candidates will be inducted as cadets for four year B. Tech course in applied Electronics and Communication Engineering (for Executive Branch), Mechanical Engineering (for Engineering Branch including Naval Architect specialisation) or Electronics and Communication Engineering (for Electrical Branch) as per naval requirements.
On completion of the course, B. Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and the cadets will be inducted as Commissioner Officer in the Indian Navy. The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy. The cadets will also be provided with free clothing and messing. The training scheduled to commence in January 2018.

How to apply

While filling up the e-application, applicant may keep the relevant documents readily available to enable correct filling up of personal particulars. Details are to be filled up as given in the matriculation certificate/12th certificate. Filling up of fields such as e-mail address, mobile number is compulsory. All relevant documents like Date of Birth proof (as per 20th/12th certificates), 10th mark sheet, 12th mark sheet, JEE (Main) 2017 scorecard (indicating All India Rank) and a recent size colour photograph should be scanned and uploaded in PDF form, preferably from the original. If any scanned document is not legible / readable for any reason, the application will be rejected.
