India to set up 20 world class research institutions!

A good initiative by the government! Yes India needs more research institutions, we are still lacking behind when it come to world class research institutions.

Union Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javedekar, told students of the Indian Institute of Science (IISC) that “the government has decided to set up 20 world class institutions across the country to encourage young talents do research and promoted new initiatives and innovations in science and technology”.

The minister also mentioned that through research and innovation India as a country could achieve prosperity and institutions likes IISC would not face a financial crunch.  Adequate funds will pour in from government bodies and innovation will bring in investors too.


He also spoke about the benefits of Good and Services Tax, which will also enable the government to provide more funds to education, research and innovation.  Through the implementation of GST the government believes that there will be enough of funds for the prosperity of the country. India’s prosperity also lies in education where research and innovation plays an important role.

The government’s initiatives to fund more universities for research and innovation will bring more prosperity to India and more developments in areas of education.  The Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, while interacting with the faculty and research scholars at the IISC reiterated that GST will enable the government to funds institutions for research and innovation.

IISc Director Anurag Kumar and other students of the university were present on the occasion. Many students are looking forward to this new imitative, so that they can utilize their expertise and bring in new innovations to the country.
