B.Tech. in Textile Technology

The Indian textile and readymade garments industry is witnessing exponential growth, giving the country the much needed foreign exchange revenue. As the industry is burgeoning, so does the need for engineering graduates with requisite skills in the engineering, design, chemistry, management, computers, apparel, marketing and sales, and quality control.

Textile Engineering uses the principles of engineering with specific knowledge of textile equipment and processes. The course curriculum also draws knowledge from other engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical and industrial and chemical engineering.

Textile industry basically involves manufacturing of various types of fabrics both natural and synthetic as well as of production machinery and application of new technology. The industry has categorized in three major areas of work namely research and development, manufacturing and merchandising.

There are many engineering colleges/polytechnics/universities in India offering courses in textile engineering and technology. For doing B.Tech in Textile Engineering one should have completed +2 Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and/or Biology. Most engineering colleges in the country select candidates based on written entrance examinations. New JNU hostel to allot 75% rooms to north-east students

A new hostel is going to come up on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus in New Delhi, where 75 per cent of the rooms will be allotted to the students from the northeast, Union minister Jitendra Singh said on Monday. The announcement was made on July 24, 2017, by the Union Minister of State for the Development of North East India Jitendra Singh. He laid down the foundation stone for the new hostel that will be called Barak Hostel after the Barak River in the north-east. Although the construction of the hostel has been pending for up to three years, the minister said that the hostel will most likely be operational after 20 months. B.Tech admission 2018 at Naval Academy, Ezhimala

Indian Navy has invited applications from unmarried males, for admission to the  10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) four years degree course commencing in January 2018, at Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala in Kannur district of Kerala.   Eligibility     Applicant should have been born between July 2, 1998 and January 1, 2001 (both dates inclusive) and should have passed senior secondary examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent examination from any Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English in either in Class X or Class XII. Applicant should also have appeared for JEE (Main) Examination.
